Welcome to Lazy Daisy – a concept formed by mum of five Julie Long in 2004 to provide methods of empowerment and natural education for mums to be and new mums. Lazy Daisy offers a completely different approach to antenatal education through the Daisy Birthing® method and total continuity of care for mums with postnatal Daisy Baby™ sessions
Lazy Daisy now has over seventy mentors across the UK and this number is growing daily as more and more mums are drawn to the idea of training and working as an antenatal teacher, running their own birthing clinics. Lazy Daisy mentors are gently guiding over 750 expectant mums a week through our trade marked and unique relaxed-active birthing and birth confidence classes and antenatal education (a real alternative to the usual antenatal classes on offer) and postnatally, through unique 4th trimester baby bonding and baby soothing classes. It is easy to see why we are now considered one of the fastest growing methods and a totally ‘modern day’ approach to preparing for birth and life with baby.
Lazy Daisy (Scotland)
Daisy Birthing® and Daisy Baby™ programmes first arrived in Scotland in 2011, when clinical hypnotherapist and fertility specialist and founder of Nurture Glasgow, introduced these unique antenatal classes and baby classes to her own Glasgow programme. Popularity quickly spread and now you will find Lazy Daisy antenatal and postnatal sessions taught throughout Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, The Forth Valley and Dunfermline.
The needs of mums to be in Scotland have never been greater– with birth rates on the up, several studies (by the NCT and other organisations) demonstrating a real need for support in pregnancy & postnatally and of course many Scottish mums based in rural communities, Lazy Daisy is actively recruiting peer to peer mentors.
Our Scottish Training Centre
Lazy Daisy is about real mums teaching from their experiences, but underpinned of course by some fantastic and FEDANT approved training to ensure we only accredit competent antenatal instructors with a true understanding of anatomy, the hormonal responses of labour and a safe range of movements and ‘practical’ educational segments suitable for all mums-to-be (including those with SPD). Training with Lazy Daisy will empower you to empower others on their birth journey and will enable you to register with FEDANT as an approved antenatal educator.
